Mosman Prep benefits from the P&F administered non-profit Canteen. A small team of dedicated staff managed by the Canteen Manager, reporting through to the P&F, run our Canteen. Our school community is very lucky to have such a wonderful Canteen, which is highly popular and the envy of many other schools. The Canteen prepares up to 160 lunches daily for students and staff; it also caters for school events.
The Mosman Prep Canteen is passionate about providing our boys with home cooked, wholesome, nutritious meals, snacks and drinks at good value prices. Menus are carefully crafted and prepared by hand daily using quality fresh ingredients. Our everyday meals are packed full of ‘hidden’ fresh vegetables, our smoothies are naturally sweetened and bursting with fruit. We have a range of freshly baked snacks or frozen fruit and yoghurt pops for those hotter days. A range of gluten-free foods is also available and dietary requirements can be catered for, please contact the Canteen to discuss. The Canteen strives to be environmentally friendly in its operation and offers ‘keep cups’ with reduced pricing on drinks. They only use biodegradable plastic (cups and forks), brown paper bags and no individual portions sauces.
Volunteers
The Mosman Prep Canteen relies on the help of volunteers for daily support. Without the support of our school community volunteering within the Canteen, we could not be successful or offer such value pricing. Parents, grandparents, guardians and carers are all welcome to volunteer and will find the Canteen a great place to network, and learn more about your child’s environment, you will be surprised how excited your child will be to see you in the Canteen!
What can I expect to do as Volunteer in the Canteen?
Volunteers will help with light food prep such as assembling pizzas or coating schnitzels. You will also serve food and snacks at the Canteen window and take cash payments. To comply with health and safety we ask all volunteers to wear enclosed shoes, pants below the knee and long hair must be tied back.
When can I volunteer?
You can assist from 10.00am until 11.30am (Recess), or from 12pm until 1.30pm
(Lunch). Year Group Canteen rosters are published on the School events calendar
Each Year Group is responsible for filling these shifts at the beginning of the year. We ask that all families sign up to two Canteen shifts per year, using the Mosman Prep Canteen SignUp app:

These shifts are not set in stone as you may swap them during the year if required. Your year group has a volunteering coordinator who can further assist. If you are interested in volunteering on a regular basis please contact the Canteen Manager.
Online Ordering System
We offer a convenient online ordering system, Flexischools, which allows parents to place orders 24/7 via their website or download the Flexischools App. This system removes paper lunch orders and cash and allows you to book ahead for the whole term.
To register for Flexischools, simply go to www.flexischools.com.au and click "Register Now". You will be sent an email with further instructions on how to complete your registration. Once registered, you can start placing orders immediately and set up automatic top ups. The online menu is the same price as the normal Canteen menu.

Recess Ordering
The Canteen is open at recess where a selection of freshly made snacks and drinks are available. These purchases can be paid with cash or pre ordered through Flexischools.
Lunch Ordering
The Canteen does not accept cash purchases for lunches at lunchtime. Lunch orders are to be made online by 8.45am through the Flexischools system. Orders are prepared for boys and are collected from the Canteen lunch baskets that are distributed to classes from the Canteen.
Forgotten Recess or Lunch
If your son forgets his recess or lunch, he will let his teacher know and be directed to the School Office. The School Office will contact parents to place a ‘yellow slip’ order. If for any reason the School is unable to contact parents, an order will be placed for your son. For lunch the order will comprise lunch and a drink. A ‘yellow slip’ order will attract a flat charge of $5 for recess and $10 for lunch.
