An Invaluable Gift – A legacy for now and beyond
Please consider how you can help.
The Winter Ball Fundraiser held last Saturday night was a truly fabulous evening of connection and celebration. As one parent remarked to me, “The special Mosman Prep Community was on display!”
However, at play there was more than excited chatter, dining, and dancing.
We were also considering (in our 120th Year), ‘How we might embrace the opportunity to enrich the lives of current and future generations of Mosman Prep Boys and families, through generous financial contributions’.
For a large part of the School’s 120 year history, teaching and learning has taken place in buildings leased from St Clement’s Church. In part due to the generosity of past parents, over time, adjacent properties were purchased and learning spaces constructed. Today we are blessed with state-of-the-art facilities such as the Central Learning Space and Terrey Hills Outdoor Learning Centre.
In essence, ‘We are sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago’. Warren Buffett. (Co-founder, chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway)
In the Sydney Morning Herald last weekend, James Humberstone (specialist in music education at the University of Sydney) explained, “Provision for music in schools is limited these days. We can no longer be sure that our children will experience music education at the hands of trained music educators in the classroom. The opportunity for musical lessons with a musically trained teacher is like winning a golden ticket”.
We have an outstanding Creative Arts Music Program and a gifted Creative Arts Director. Our vision is to develop a dedicated Creative Arts Facility that will excite and inspire our boys to engage in Creative Arts in an even greater way.
As a School Community, we have the chance to show our gratitude for what those before us have enabled, by considering how we might enrich the lives of today’s and future generations.
If you would like to discuss further our Property Development Plan and perhaps how you might contribute financially to our vision, I would be excited to meet with you. Please contact me at pgrimes@mosmanprep.nsw.edu.au or email my EA Julie Shortland at ea@mosmanprep.nsw.edu.au.
Alternatively, you may wish to make a direct donation (tax deductible) to the School’s Building Fund (you can obtain full tax deductibility via a tax receipt by contacting one of the email addresses above).
Donations made before 30 June will apply to this year’s Tax Return (8 days remain).
Donations can be made directly using the QR Code below, or the linked Pledge Form.
Thank you for considering your support for this important development.
